Drop-Off

 Pick Up

To ensure safety and efficiency, we appreciate your adherence to our drop off policy as follows:

  • Enter the alley from Alcott St
    •
  • Exit the alley from Saturn St, maintaining a speed no more than 5MPH during carpool

    •
  • Do not use your cell phone during carpool time

    •
  • Never leave your car unattended while in carpool line

    •
  • Please don’t engage the staff on carpool duty in lengthy discussions. Staff members need to focus on their primary objective, helping load and unload your children into your vehicle safely and expeditiously

    •
  • NEVER leave any small children unattended in your vehicle

    •
  • Please remain patient if drop-off/pick-up takes longer than expected

    •
  • If you need help, please do not hesitate to ask for assistance

    •
  • If you choose to escort your child into their classroom in the morning or pick them up in the afternoon, please pay attention to the parking signs.

    •
  • Please make sure to sign-in/ sign-out. All parents are required to sign the sign-in sheets twice a day by writing your first and last name in full as well as the drop-off and pick-up time. Signing in and signing out your child is a mandatory part of California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Title XXII. You must sign your full signature and time. The preschool could be fined up to $200 per day for not having every signature and we would then pass this cost on to you.

    •
  • It is the policy of the school, as well as the State of California, that all children under six years of age and/or under 60 pounds must be in a child restraint system. Any child who does not have a car seat, the staff will not be able to put your child in the car. There will be no exceptions to this rule. If you are part of a carpool, you will have to make prior arrangements for each driver to have the necessary car seats in each vehicle. There are car seats available to borrow in the office for a charge of $5 a day.

In order to make this a very successful school year, we ask that you bring your child to school on time. and pick him/her up on time. If you pick your child up late there will be a late fee charge of $10 for every 15 minutes after 4:00 pm Monday – Thursday and after 1:15 pm on Friday.

If you are unable to pick up your child, and plan to send a relative or friend, please notify the school office by phone or with a written note. Your child will not be released from school unless we have this documentation in advance and that person’s name is listed on your Emergency Form.

The first few days of school are usually very stressful for both parents and children…there are usually lots of tears from both the children and parents. To ease this separation time, you may want to walk your child into class and stay a few minutes until he/she is comfortable. If we work together, your child will have a much smoother entrance into school.
