Our history

Welcome to Emunah Hebrew Academy (EHA). We are an independent premier early childhood private school, Jewish Preschool, and Kindergarten that lovingly introduces children to their rich Jewish heritage, through Torah and Mitzvot, stories, music, crafts, and play. Located in the heart of the Jewish Pico Robertson neighborhood in Los Angeles, California we welcome you on board. The goal of our program is to make learning exciting, interesting and fun. Through our emergent, hands-on approach to teaching, our children will become independent thinkers, in a warm Jewish environment. Our beautiful facility greatly enhances our program and provides many new and creative opportunities in which our children grow and learn.

Health & Safety

Your child’s health is important to all of us. It is to the child’s benefit that parents keep the school up-to-date on home and cell phone numbers, emergency numbers and other pertinent information. All children will have a “visual health check” each morning as they enter their class. If your child has any signs of illness, he/she will not be allowed in school that day.

When your child is not feeling well, please be considerate of the teachers and children, by keeping him/her home until he/she is feeling better. If your child has a fever, diarrhea, vomiting, or a green runny nose, he/she must be kept at home until symptom free for 24 hours. A temperature above 99.2 is an indication that your child is either not well, or is coming down with something and should be kept home. If you are not certain what to do, please call the school’s director in the morning after 8:15 AM and we can discuss the best course of action to take.

If a child does become ill at school, he/she will be kept isolated for his/her comfort and for the safety of the other children until a parent or responsible adult comes to pick up.

If in case of an accident resulting in an injury, an initial assessment of the situation will be made. If deemed necessary, we will call 911 and Hatzoloh. We will make every effort to contact a parent or authorized person on record right away. Please note that our preschool staff has been certified in CPR and First Aid.

Our community

Our families come from nearby neighborhoods, creating a close-knit environment and strong parent partnerships. Whether we’re close to home or near the office, our center is ideal for busy working families and easy to get to – for pick-up and drop-off or to stop in for a visit.
We look forward to working with you and your children to help them grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically in a warm loving atmosphere full of Torah, laughter and fun.

Our Children

We believe in the individuality of the child, how each one learns, with an emphasis on each child’s abilities and needs, creating lessons that fit into the context of the students’ lives both inside and outside of school. Some children may be visual, some auditory and others kinesthetic learners. Our staff implements a curriculum that fosters creativity and empowers students to discover their own identity, making the material come alive in order to inspire our students.

In the first weeks of school, children will be learning about each other, their teachers, and themselves. We will focus on the classroom and the creation of a physically and emotionally safe environment. We look forward to working with you and your children to help them grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically in a warm loving atmosphere full of Torah, laughter and fun.
